ARC Course Indicator, a vintage aviation navigation gauge manufactured by the Aircraft Radio Corporation (ARC). It is a type of Course Deviation Indicator (CDI).

Instrument Information

Function: This indicator is used in aircraft navigation to display the aircraft's position relative to a selected course from a VOR (VHF Omnidirectional Range) or TACAN ground station, and deviation from an Instrument Landing System (ILS) localizer or glideslope.

OBS Knob: The knob labeled "OBS" stands for Omni-Bearing Selector. It allows the pilot to select a desired radial (course) to track to or from a navigation beacon, which rotates the compass card on the instrument face.

Components: The instrument features a vertical needle (Course Deviation Indicator or CDI needle) and a horizontal glideslope needle (visible near the bottom of the dial), along with a "TO/FROM" indicator flag to show if the selected course will take the aircraft to or from the station.

Identification: Specific part numbers associated with similar models include IN-514R (P/N 31640-0001) and IN-525A (P/N 32350-0001), often found in Cessna aircraft.
