One nice wartime Cylinder Head Temperature Instrument manufactured by for US Army Air Forces by DEJUR - AMSCO. Nice big old instrument that let the flying types observe cylinder head temperature on a radial engine and made intentionally big so that even the practially blind could read it. It's similar to the Type B-9 unit that would have been found in both Army Air Forces and USN aircraft during the war years. Standard 3 1/8" in panel mount here. Nothing special.

Nice and clean. No dust or bugs or dirt behind the glass. Perfect panel filler if you are rebuilding a bomber or transport or trainer panel. For an 80-year-old instrument it's got nice sharp graphics and markings. Black bakleite plastic case has a couple of minor stress cracks. No terribly noticeable when instrument is installed. Glass is perfect. No other paperwork or documents come with this instrument. Note the brass instrument panel keeper nuts on the back of the case.  

Rated for 0-300 degrees C. The B-9 ranged from 0-300. Used in conjunction with a thermocouple on a designated cylinder. Big old heavy metal case. Properly stored when removed from a scrapped airplane with the ganging of a piece of wire around the studs. We got this in a pile of post-war USN SNJ goodies.   

Radium faced? Perhaps. As such this sale is CONUS ONLY. International purchase will be cancelled as we do not have proper export license for military hardware and if scanned and any radium detected the instrument is confiscated and destroyed by Customs. Much as we like to support restoration projects out-of-country, please be advised this instrument isn't for you.
