The PM 1000 is a two place, panel-mounted intercom with individual volume and squelch controls for the pilot and copilot position and has an automatic fail safe interconnect to the aircraft radio. If power to the intercom is disrupted, and internal relay will connect the pilots headset to the Aircraft‘s radio, this allows continuous radio communications. 
This intercom was in operational order in a PAPA-51 Thunder Mustang prior to removal for a Garmin upgrade. Although not recently tested, it was a green tagged by the installation facility and is ready to be tested and installed. 
- Pilot isolation: allows a pilot to talk on the radio without passenger interruption.
- installation: proper wiring and shielding are crucial to prevent noise issues. PS engineering recommends professional installation.
