USED FOR SALE NARCO 890 DME

This unit was removed for panel upgrade

Being sold as removed

Looking at the unit

It looks very clean and nice

Cosmetically very, very nice

The owner said that it warms up nicely and works as expected

I was able to go along on the repositioning flight

I took the photos of this DME in flight

I grouped the photos together based on .

The first photo #8 shows the remote knob pulled out and the above NAV/COM of 119.20 being remotely channeled

Each channel change photo shows the FREQ / GS-TIME being switched

Three different Ground DME stations were tuned in and the DME locked on the stations. The flight was at most 1500 AGL

In the foothills. Two of the stations faded out momentarily as we passed behind some hills, but came back up. Most likely from being blocked by the low altitude and hills.

Please note that we were NOT flying to or from any of the Ground DME stations that were tuned in.

Therefore, the GS is NOT as expected and is much lower than the actual GS / airspeed, as if flights were direct to or from the station.

This inflight check shows that the DME is working as designed

No further checks or cert tests were made. Therefore, just an observation.
