Has served me well over the last few years. I’ll be honest I didn’t use it very often, but I have to say the few times I did use it and needed it, I was incredibly grateful to have it. It’s a fantastic additional level of redundancy, works fantastically well and is well built as most Garmin Aviation stuff is, and works with both Garmin Pilot and Foreflight. You can even plug it into an antenna on the plane via the port on the side (this was a life saver when I had to fly a 1940s era plane into the LAX class bravo).
Every time I have needed it (and realllyy needed it) it has worked perfectly without skipping a beat. Earlier this year I had a full electrical failure so my PFD was black, and to make matters worse I was flying IFR with the cloud bases at 500ft. I genuinely believe this device saved my life that day due to the ability to use the synthetic vision along with my backup vacuum system gauges to make it down safely, but I think it may have turned out differently if I didn’t have this unit and my iPad.
