This is a Garmin GDL 39 to Garmin GPSMAP 396/495/496 Data Power Cable (P/N 010-11686-20).  It supplies power to both the GDL 39 ADSB receiver and to the GPSMAP GPS receiver.  It also allows the GDL 39 to display traffic on the GPSMAP.  It is powered by a 12V outlet plug.

This is Garmin's description:

"Charge or power your GPSMAP 396/495/496 and a GDL® 39 all from your aircraft's cigarette lighter receptacle. The cable has a Y-connection at the end so you can place the GDL 39 on your dash and the portable on your yoke or lap."

I bought it to reverse engineer the serial TIS-A traffic protocol used by the GPSMAP (see picture) so it has been used for a few days and tested to work.  I paid $68 for it with shipping.

I no longer need it since I returned the borrowed GDL 39 I was using for testing.
