Up for auction is a "Like New" Garmin GDL-51 Sirius/XM weather receiver.  The unit is 100% functional and the enclosed battery is in excellent condition and retains a full charge.  The GDL-51 is compatible with ForeFlight as well as GARMIN PILOT apps.  The GDL-51 comes with the original box and all of the accessories.  The unit communicates to the display (Ipad or Android) via the built in "Blue Tooth" data link.

The functions include Sirius/XM weather reception, WAAS GPS receiver and Electronic Attitude for 3D and Synthetic Vision display.  The Sirius/XM antenna, the GPS antenna and the bluetooth antenna are an integral part of the unit and are contained in the enclosure.  Placing the GDL-51 on the glare shield will ensure excellent reception of the both GPS and Sirius/MX Weather.  With the enclosed battery the unit is totally self contained and communicates via wireless bluetooth to the Ipad or Android display .  There is also an option to connect external Sirius/XM and GPS antennas for remote operation.  A mount is also provided if remote operation is desired.  I have also included an external power cable that will enable remote operation with external aircraft power.  This will also keep the battery fully charged.

The first five pictures show the actual unit as well as the accessories.  The next three pictures show the GDL-51 operating with Garmin Pilot to show the quality of the received data.  The status page shows the signal strength as "Excellent".  The unit was just sitting out on the patio when the pictures were taken.

NOTE:  As an extra bonus the Sirius/XM weather subscription is still valid for a limited time so you may try the unit out with full functionality before you decide to subscribe to Sirius/XM weather service.
