This GPS has seen little use. It has been stored for a while and I purchased a new battery for it a few months ago with the intention of installing it in the panel of my Piper Cherokee 140 but have now chosen to sell my interest in the aircraft. I will continue to fly gliders and no longer need it as the software is not really designed for gliders. The GPS is in excellent condition and the screen has excellent color, brightness and no scratches or imperfections that I can see on the screen or the body. The aviation map database is out of date and the new owner will have to purchase an update through Garmin's website. The only issue that I cannot figure out how to resolve is that although the time is displayed correctly, the date displayed on the screen is not. It still connects with the GPS satellites and works fine. The unit is being sold subject to this condition and it will be up to the purchaser to address this issue.
The Garmin GPSMAP 496 will ship with the following accessories:
Airgizmos Panel Mount (aka Airgizmo)
(1) Remote GPS antenna
(1) Remote GXM 30A XM/WX satellite weather and radio antenna (A subscription is needed to use this service and is not included)
(2) Cigarette lighter plug charging cables
(1) Cigarette lighter plug charging cable with built-in speaker
(1) USB port extension cable
(1) Adhesive backed mounting pad. It has never been used and comes with two adhesive pads.
(1) Bean bag style (gravity) mounting dock
(1) Yoke Mount assembly (Please note that the yoke mount is missing the adapter plate that fits between the GPS unit and the yoke arm. I have looked for it but cannot find it. The purchaser will have to obtain one.)

With some help, I was able to fix the date issue and the GPS now reads the correct year. There is a screen menu that I was unfamiliar with that is used to input the current year. The GPS satellites automatically populate the month, date, and time.
I added an additional picture to show the date and satellite reception. The picture also shows the back side of the XM radio receiver that has the ID number that must be used to subscribe to the network.
Finally, I did not know this but the Garmin 496 GPS can also be setup for Marine or Automotive use. There is yet another menu where this can be selected.
Hope this GPS and all the accessories find a good home. It is a great little unit.

The picture I tried to add showing that the GPS displays the correct date did not upload properly and the folks at Ebay said that the only remedy is to relist the item. I don't believe that this is right for those that are bidders so if anyone watching this listing wants a copy of the picture, please send me a note through Ebay and I will attach it. Sorry for this but the person at Ebay said they are having issues with uploading of pictures but can't do anything to help me other than the offer to relist it.
