1962 mooney m20c with belly damage. The pilot switched tanks just before takeoff, and unknowingly switched to an empty tank. Airplane lifted off and he retracted the landing gear and when it quit he landed back down on the runway on its belly. We checked the landing gear to make sure he had no issues, replace the prop, and test ran the engine. The engine runs great but the fuel pressure seems just a tad low. I think it's just a loose gas collator bowl. The buyer is welcome to use our ferry prop to get it home, but we will need that prop back. There are some flat skins on the belly that will need to be replaced, as well as two stringers, and the nose gear doors. There is very little damage done to a mooney when it lands on its belly. This old aircraft was in fairly good mechanical condition, but was a little cosmetically challenged shall we say? It had just returned from Don Maxwell replacing all of the landing gear donuts. Anyone who knows mooney knows that Don Maxwell is the mooney guru.
