IMPORTANT: You are bidding on a used PROJECT airplane. It is a 1964 Mooney M20E. It is being sold less engine and propeller. It will take time and effort to reassemble it into a flying airplane. The good part is that it is a disassembled airplane, but it is not wrecked or damaged. Please ask if you have any questions. You may inspect the project any time before the end of the auction.
SALE CONDITIONS: If you bid on this project be ready to complete the purchase. If your's is the winning bid, you are under legal contract to complete the sale. A $500 deposit paid via Pay Pal is due within 48 hours after the close of the auction. The balance of the purchase is due in cash, delivered in person, or via certified bank check, before delivery. The buyer will have 30 days from close of auction to pick up the project or arrange to have it shipped. The buyer is responsible for all pick up and delivery charges.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: Mooney airplanes are known to be fast and efficient. The M20E is known to be one of the fastest of the legacy Mooneys. It has a somewhat shorter cabin than some of the later Mooneys. It is designed to use the Lycoming IO360A1A 200 HP fuel-injected engine.
VEHICLE HISTORY: I purchased this airplane as a project in 2007 with the plan to restore it and use it for family transportation. Soon after purchasing it, I became very busy with other responsibility and have not been able to work on it. The person from whom I purchased it bought it specifically as a parts donor for a home built project. He kept the engine and prop and was going to scrap the rest of it before I bought it. Up until he disassembled it, he was flying it regularly. It was in annual and airworthy at that time. It has never been wrecked. Although I could make more money by parting it out, it is in such good condition that I can't bring myself to do that.
VEHICLE CONDITION: Total airframe time is approximately 3950 hours. All logs since new are included. It has an airworthiness certificate and is currently registered. The airframe is very clean. I have not seen any corrosion. The control surfaces have been removed, but are included. Exhaust, baffling, instruments, and other small parts are included. It is missing the lower part of the rear seat and some of the interior parts. The original autopilot is included. The wiring has been cut in several places so most of the wiring will need to be redone. Some small parts were lost or damaged by the disassembler.
